Battleground is a mockumentary comedy-drama television series created by J. D. Walsh streamed on Hulu. The show follows a group of political campaign staffers working to elect a dark horse candidate to the U.S. Senate in the battleground state of Wisconsin. Walsh serves as executive producer alongside Hagai Shaham and Marc Webb.The show marks Hulu's first foray into original scripted programming. It premiered online on February 14, 2012.

Each episode featured either a historic battle or a fictional battle, which opposing wargaming generals would fight using 25mm figures. The viewers were shown edited highlights during episode. Each episode represented different periods of history and/or different types of battles. Episode 1 - The Battle of Edgehill 1642 set during the English Civil War Episode 2 - Waterloo 1815 set during the Napoleonic Wars Episode 3 - Battle of the Nile 1798 (a naval battle - set during the Napoleonic Wars Episode 4 - Chalons sur Marne 451 AD (A battle between between a coalition led by the Roman general Flavius Aëtius and the Visigothic king Theodoric I against the Huns and their allies commanded by their leader Attila). Episode 5 - France, 1944 (An imaginary game set in Northern France after D-Day) Episode 6 - Gettysburg 1863 set during the American Civil War Each minute that was shown represented several hours of studio work. The series took over 5 months to make.

After the Nazis took power, the resistance searched for a solution to end Adolf Hitler's evil dictatorship. They formulated a plan to bio-engineer super-human assassins, eventually finding their man in one Captain Berlin.

Battleground Earth was a 2008 television series on Planet Green hosted by rock star Tommy Lee and rapper Ludacris.

David Hasselhoff, better known for his roles in “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch” released a song titled, “Looking for Freedom” the year before the Berlin Wall came down. He performed it on top of the Berlin Wall to a million people during the biggest New Year's Eve party Germany had ever seen. Twenty five years later, David revisits the now-reunited capital, investigating what is left of the Wall, and explores what it meant in the context of the Cold War dividing Communism in the East from democracy in the West. Along his journey he meets extraordinary people who dreamt of freedom and risked their lives trying to overcome the dreaded Berlin Wall.
